I don't know if it was my Guardian Angel.

I am not sure I have a specific Angel delegated to just me.

However, I know in my heart that angels exist.

Please allow me to tell my story.


I was a single Mom. Working very hard to support myself and boys. When I wasn't at work, I was grocery shopping, doing laundry, paying bills, cleaning the small Apartment that we lived in...etc...etc.

Anyway, on this particular day I was feeling hopeless, tired and sad. I stopped at a gas station, got out to pay,and a grubby raggety man rode right in front of me on his old bicycle.

I thought "What a rude bum". Then he looked right at me, smiled, and said "Hi Smiley"
There were two very significant things about this encounter. The first, is a cousin that has passed and I loved very much is the only one in my life who has ever called me Smiley.

The second is that this apparent "bum" had the whitest teeth and eyes I have ever seen. His smile and eyes almost sparkled. This may not sound like an earth shattering contact with an Angel. However, How would a bum have such shinning eyes and perfect teeth, and know that calling me "Smiley" would make me remember to laugh at myself and life.

I have no doubt I saw an angel that day.
I feel so blessed to know it.
